A highball glass is a glass tumbler used to serve "tall" cocktails and other mixed drinks that contain a large proportion of a non-alcoholic mixer, and are poured over ice. It is often used interchangeably with the Collins Glass, although the highball glass is shorter and wider in shape.
Examples: Dark "N" Stormy, Bloody Mary, Mojito, gin & tonic.
This one is easy: a highball glass is tall and skinny thus focusing the bubbles of long drinks up and a lowball is short and wide so you can smell the ingredients in the drink. Highball-soda. Lowball-flat. Both glasses are almost always identical in volume.
A highball is a mixed alcoholic drink composed of an alcoholic base spirit and a larger proportion of a non-alcoholic mixer, often a carbonated beverage. Examples include the Seven and Seven, Scotch and soda, gin and tonic, Screwdriver, and rum and Coke. A highball is typically served over ice in a large straight-sided highball glass or Collins glass.
